Discovery Business Insurance is showing its support for the restaurant industry by helping them get rediscovered, with our #RestaurantReDiscovery competition.
We want you, the public, to show the restaurant you love some support during these trying times, and also challenge SA restaurants to showcase their local heart and flavour this Heritage Month.
How does the competition work?
Public tags their favourite South African restaurant
- Include the hashtag #RestaurantReDiscovery when tagging the restaurant
- Public tags their favourite restaurant from Monday 6 September to midnight on Thursday 16 September 2021.
Restaurant creates short video
- Video should showcase the restaurant's heritage, the inspiration behind the restaurant, and what makes it unique
- Non-professional video, shot with smartphone (no professional recording equipment)
- If restaurant was not tagged by the public, they can still enter the competition and upload a video.
Restaurant uploads their video, tags Discovery and uses the hashtag #RestaurantReDiscovery
- Restaurant can upload their video until midnight on Thursday 16 September 2021.
Discovery announces top finalist restaurants on Wednesday 22 September 2021
Public votes for their favourite restaurant from the top finalist videos
- Voting for favourite video closes at midnight on Monday 27 September 2021.
- 10 winners of R1 000 cash prize each will be announced on Thursday 30 September 2021.
Winner of the R25 000 cash prize will be announced on Wednesday 29 September 2021
