MOT & Service Plan includes:

This plan is for petrol and diesel cars and vans that are less than 20 years old at time of opening a Service Plan, that have an engine of 3.0 litres or smaller and which weigh less than 3.5 tonnes. 

RAC MOT Cover and MOTs can only be redeemed at selected RAC Approved Garages, before purchasing please check and ensure you're happy that there is a participating garage near you.

Your price is now fixed for your MOT and Servicing for the next 2 years, giving you protection against inflation and cost-of-living price rises.

Using your cover

You can make a booking at any time during your service plan, but if you pay monthly and need a Service in the first three months of your Plan, you will need to pay a top-up fee. Subsequent monthly payments will be reduced accordingly. You can end the Service Plan early. The number of payments made and MOTs or Services you have had before cancelling will influence whether a partial refund is given and/or whether fees apply. If you pay monthly, you must make all monthly payments, even after you have had the benefits of all MOT’s and Services as entitled.

Monthly payments allow you to split the cost of your service plan into manageable amounts. We’ll take the first installment today, then each month for the remainder of your plan.

If you choose to pay upfront, we will take the full cost of the service plan today, so there’s no need to worry about future payments.

RAC Service Plans

An interim service is a quicker, less thorough inspection of your car’s components. This typically consists of around 40-50 checks on most parts of your vehicle, from the steering and brakes, to the clutch, tyres and more. It’s recommended for drivers to get an interim service every six months, or every 6,000 miles, in between your annual full service. A full service is a thorough inspection of the conditioning and functioning of your car, consisting of around 60-70 checks in total. A full service will include everything from an interim service, plus more. A full service is recommended to be carried out at the 12,000 miles mark, or at least once yearly, whichever comes first. A major service is the most comprehensive form of car servicing, which covers parts that are often recommended for replacement every two years. A major service usually includes all of the checks from a full service, plus extras, and is recommended every 24 months or 24,000 miles.

What’s the difference between an interim, full and major service?

Yes, there will be an additional cost for any repairs needed on your car following your service or MOT.

If I have a service or MOT and my car needs a repair, will there be an additional cost?

To cancel your RAC Service Plan, please email rac@whocanfixmycar.com and include your name and car registration within your email.

How can I cancel my RAC Service Plan?

To reschedule your booking, simply log into your RAC Service Plan account, select the booking you want to reschedule, and click cancel. You will then be given the option to reschedule your booking, where you can select the date or time that you would prefer. You will then receive an email confirming your new booking time.

I’ve booked my car for a service or MOT but I’d like to reschedule. How can I do that?

To cancel your booking, simply log into your RAC Service Plan account, select your booking and click cancel. You will then receive an email confirming that your booking has been cancelled.

I’ve booked my car for a service or MOT but I’d like to cancel. How can I do that?

You can book a diagnostic test into one of our RAC Approved Garages. The list of garages available are shown in an interactive map on your customer portal at https://rac.serviceplans.co.uk/dashboard,  or you can use any VAT-registered garage. Please note that the cost of the diagnostic test is only covered if your claim is successful, subject to certain limits.

I need to change my address or my vehicle has a new registration, how do I update my details?

RAC Car Warranty

You are covered for £2000 towards the repair of unexpected mechanical or electrical failures. Wear and tear and pre-existing conditions are excluded, as well as some specific parts. More details can be found in your Terms and Conditions.

What am I covered for with RAC car warranty? 

Yes – unlike other providers, we don’t require a vehicle inspection before the cover starts. So this means if you have an unexpected mechanical or electrical failure, you’re covered from day 1. Please note that pre-existing conditions are excluded.

Can I claim straight away?

You can access your customer portal at https://rac.serviceplans.co.uk/dashboard which has a list of RAC Approved Garages who can complete RAC Car Warranty related repairs. Alternatively, you can use any VAT-registered garage.

Who will make the repairs?

Our RAC patrols won’t have your RAC Car Warranty information. So please let them know if you have a policy, so they can arrange the right next steps for you (e.g. taking you to the right garage for diagnosis and repair).

What happens if I break down and I have a car warranty?

We recommend that you go to an RAC Approved Garage for your warranty claim. Find your local RAC Approved Garage at https://rac.serviceplans.co.uk/dashboard The mechanic at the garage will be able to contact the claims team directly to initiate the claim on your behalf, if it’s covered. But you can also contact the RAC Car Warranty claims team directly on 0330 100 3728.
