We wanted to thank the City of La Quinta for their profound support this season and for helping us towards our many goals of better sport and increased reach across our local area. The City of La Quinta is an incredible community just a few miles from our park, and developing a relationship with its leadership has been and will continue to be crucial to our success in the Coachella Valley. Reflecting on the close of our season, we would like to toast Visit Greater Palm Springs for becoming a true champion of equestrian sport in the Coachella Valley and for supporting us all season long. We are endlessly grateful for their enthusiasm and guidance as we look back on the first season of this long-term partnership, and we can’t wait for many more years of collaboration. We are so proud to have not one, not two, but THREE Californians representing the USA at the 2024 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Final in Riyadh! 🏆 Skylar Wireman (Bonsall, CA), Jill Humphrey (Sacramento, CA), and Sophia Siegel (Portola Valley, CA) are three of only five U.S. riders going to the prestigious event this year. We can’t wait to cheer them on!
The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Final will take place Wednesday, April 17, through Saturday, April 20.
Honorable mention as well to Kent Farrington, who competes at DIHP every year!

These aren’t just your average competitor photos… they’re two of the most important people on the grounds! Running a 14-week horse show requires nothing less than the best, and that’s exactly what the team at East West Equine Sports Medicine provided every minute of every day at DIHP this season. Dr. Duncan Peters, DVM, and Dr. Lori Bidwell, DVM, run an incredible clinic, and we thank them for their efforts these past five months, and every season as a core part of our team. All horses are in excellent hands at our venue thanks to this hardworking team! 👏 Thank you, Dr. Peters and Dr. Bidwell!

Was it the beard that gave James Chawke enough luck to win 2024 Leading Open Jumper Rider? We may never know.
Either way, what a St. Paddy’s Day for this Irishman! 🍀🇮🇪
To no one’s surprise, James Chawke snagged one more win before he called Desert Circuit a wrap for his horses! With Catinka 25, he topped the $30,000 Marshall & Sterling 1.40m Open Classic, then went on to take the win as the 2024 Desert Circuit Leading Open Jumper Rider! Congrats on a stellar circuit, James!
Gregory Wathelet was named 2024 Reserve Desert Circuit Leading Open Jumper Rider, and both riders won vacations in the Palm Springs area, complete with luxury resort stays, dining credits, spa credits, golf, and more! ☀️
Round Meadow Farm wins Best Turned-Out Barn for 2024! It was such a tough competition with all the incredible barn setups, and we can’t wait to see everyone return again next year! 👋
The final Child/Adult Hunter Derbies are a wrap! We have two winners from Hunter 4 and 5 today to conclude derby action for the season:

We’re not sure what was harder, picking the top 10 grooms out of this amazing lineup, or picking our top 10 favorite photos of the event! ✨
All grooms showed up exceptionally in tonight’s $25,000 Circle B and Hidden Creek Farms Grooms’ Class, but ultimately it was Jose Garcia who brought out Amore From Second Life Z, owned by Lindsay Sceats, for Imagination Lane who took the win! 🥇
Congratulations to all the grooms, because without them we would not be able to horse show! The entire top 10 took home a cash prize, plus the top 5 won special Yeti coolers and the winner also brought home an amazing belt buckle!
EVENTS
The 2023/2024 season at Desert International Horse Park hosted 14 weeks of top-level hunter/jumper competition, including eight weeks of FEI competition and 12 weeks of Premier hunters. In addition, there were four weeks of dressage competition featuring three weeks of CDI-rated action. Stay tuned for our 2024/2025 dates for each of the following events.
