We also sell our own kvitmuggost (mountain goat cheese) which is produced from milk from our goats. The cheese can also be bought in many of the local grocery shops. Delicious when served with honey and walnuts.

History

Valbjør is a peaceful farmyard with a history dating back to Viking times. As of today there are 13 houses on the farm from 17th, 18th and the 19th century. The houses are restored and adapted for rental and guided tours, and shows a great wealth of old craft traditions.

The farm accommodates organic farming, and production of goat milk, own farm shop with salami goat cheese, herbs and assorted local handicrafts. It is beautifully situated on the northern side of Vågåvatnet Lake with view towards Jotunheimen. Valbjør lies in a beautiful, vibrant cultural landscape with endless hiking opportunities during summer and winter.

The farm has more than 20 beds available. Send yourself back in time within these walls and experience true history with modern comfort. Our latest additions to our farm are the old mills that have been recently restored. They are located west of the yard beside the stream where they were originally built.

We also provide flexibility for request such as teams, or large groups. Dining in the traditional houses, conferences and other activities. We will happily assist in the planning or do it all entirely.
At the farm there are also seats and fish arches in Sjodalen which are periodically available to rent. The they are situated in a peaceful and child friendly environment.
