What to expect?
This tour enables you to feel the rush of driving an ATV (Quad bike) through the fascinating Icelandic landscape. You will drive up Mt. Hafrafell and enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the city and its surrounding areas. After an informative safety talk, you’ll mount your ATV, either solo or with a companion, and begin your journey out from the outskirts of Reykjavik and up to Mt. Hafrafell. Along the way, stops are made for your guide to explain the road ahead and for you to take photos or stretch your legs.
After the ATV ride, you’ll board one of our comfortable sightseeing buses and head out to the Golden Circle route to explore some of Iceland's most magnificent natural and historical landmarks. This consists of Þingvellir National Park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gullfoss waterfall, and the famous Geysir hot spring area.
Þingvellir National Park is one of the most significant places in Iceland in terms of nature and history. It is the birthplace of the Icelandic Viking age Parliament Alþingi (930 AD), where laws were made, and medieval justice carried out. Þingvellir is home to lake Þingvallavatn, Iceland's largest natural lake, and is the place where the tectonic plates of America and Eurasia meet and drift apart.
Gullfoss Waterfall is one of the most popular natural attractions of the Golden Circle trip. Standing next to the double cascade waterfall as it thunders down into the narrow Hvítárgljufur canyon is an unforgettable experience. At Geysir geothermal area, one of the highlights is the hot spring Strokkur, which erupts with scalding water every 5 minutes.
